Core Work without The Crunch

I haven't posted any type of workout lately so I thought I'd share one I have been loving lately.  This is such a great little combo that I have been using as a warm-up, as my abs portion of a workout or you can throw it in anywhere.  It's also a great thing to have on hand when you are in a crunch and don't have time for much.  I wanted The Husband to try this on a recent business trip as it would be great for a hotel room wake up, but I'm thinking it went on deaf ears . . .I'll be honest, too.  I don't usually put a bunch of photos of  myself here 'cause I'm kinda funny that way.  And if I'd actually been thinking about it I would have chosen to wear something besides these "bubble butt" Nike shorts I have on.  They are so unflattering I don't know why I still wear them!  It was just one of those sweaty days. . .Anyway, here is a greatCORE COMBO WITHOUT ONE SINGLE CRUNCH!1.  Walkouts to Push-upsBegin at the end of a mat or workout spot.  Engage your abs.Inchworm out to a High Plank.Lower down into a Push-Up.  Perform 1-5 Push-Ups (your workout, your choice!)Engage Abs and Inchworm Back to Standing.Reapeat 5 Times Through.Walkout to Push Ups2.  Plank to PikeWalk out to a High Plank position and lower to an Elbow Plank.  Engage abs and keep elbows under shoulders.Contract the abs and raise your bottom to the sky ending in a Pike position.  Pause.Lower back to Elbow Plank.Repeat 5 Times.Plank To Pike3.  High to Low PlankBegin in High Plank Position.  Engage the abs and keep wrists under the shoulders.Lower down onto the Right elbow then the next.Lift up onto the Right arm and then the Left ending in High Plank.Repeat lowering down onto Left elbow and then the next.Lift up onto the Left arm and then the Right ending in High Plank. (That is 1 Rep)Repeat 4-5 Times switching out the lead arm.High to Low PlanksPut these three moves together and repeat all 3-5 times for a ab combo that you will feel the next day. You get a great core workout with no stress on your neck or abnormal spine movement.Try it as your warm-up for your next workout or your ab work.  Let me know what you think!!How do you warm up?  What are your favorite ab moves?  Who do those Nike shorts really flatter?  Or maybe I'm just too old for them . . . .sadly.Enjoy Your Day!Signature
