Continuing Quarantine Life
It continues to be a strange time around here. I confess that there are some things about Quarantine Life I have come to enjoy. There's been a sweetness to some of these days, for sure. As hard as it's been having our normal schedule displaced and filled with uncertainty about just about everything, I've found a new rhythm that I haven't hated. So many of the things that this time of year brings - end of year celebrations, spring parties, high school sports, formals, and for my Third Son, graduation - have been cancelled or, actually, been reinvented in creative and meaningful ways. That has been a gift I did not expect at the start of the whole Shelter in Place mandated. I am finding that, for me, reentry into life as we once knew it (if that's even possible) may actually be harder than we think. One thing that has not changed for me, and has kept me feeling normal, centered and healthy in body AND mind, is staying active. With so much up in the air these days it's nice to have one constant. Getting some exercise in every day does so much to help with our moods. We LOVE endorphins folks! And, even better, is if you can get some exercise OUTSIDE to soak up all the good Vitamin D - which is yet another mood booster. On the mornings I get to lead a social distancing outdoor workout, my whole being is just bursting! So much for energy, patience, smiles for those around (even if they don't know because it's covered with a mask!), and other feel good stuff for others AND for myself. For me, it's the pinnacle of self-care.Every Time. Always. Now that we begin to see a little light at the end of the tunnel and things begin to slowly begin opening up, I find myself not wanting to jump right back in. I'm hesitant. And a little sad. And want it to stay somewhat the same. Crazy, huh?
For those of you following along with my workouts, I've compiled them all in a VIDEO page! I'm working on adding two more this week. I've SO appreciated all the great comments and feedback. THANK YOU! You all Rock!AND OF COURSE, if you need a new mat for your workouts, check out my MD MAT. It makes all the moves on our knees, elbows and boat pose so much more comfy!
