Cool Gear Water Bottle Review. . . .
DISCLOSURE: This is a sponsored post, as always, the stories, opinions, feedback and all content are mine, all mine. When I was growing up my mom always had this cool gold and black insulated cup she carried with her everywhere. And I mean everywhere. We couldn't pop out of the house to drop me off at school without that insulated cup in the car. And, mind you, the trip took all of 18 seconds flat. We couldn't run an errand to the grocery store or drug store. We couldn't hop in the car to go to Wallace's (the local clothing store) to pick up a pair of pantyhose without her cup. And she had one of those plastic cup holders tucked into the side of the window specially placed to hold that cup. That cup was by her side from morning until night.I am now slowly turning into my mother. I have a water bottle with me at all times. I can't make the 2 minute drive to my boys' school without my water bottle. I cannot make it to the grocery store or drug store without my water bottle. I would never dream of making it to the gym, a car trip or even out to lunch without my water bottle. I do not, however, have a plastic holder for my water bottle that tucks neatly into the window sill of my car. I wish I did. And my water bottle changes. Sometimes it has a lid so I can throw it in my purse. Sometimes it is a cold stainless cup that can keep water cold even on an August day in the South. Sometimes it is my favorite Tervis tumbler that I have to steal away from the Second Son's room. And, while my mother's cup contained Tab, Caffeine Free Diet Coke, Unsweetened Tea, or Sugar Free Crystal Light - in that order throughout the years - mine is much more boring, but healthy! It always contains water. Unless, I'm feeling a little perky and add sliced lemon. Therefore, since I have a water bottle practically glued to my self at all times, when I was contacted about reviewing a new water bottle on the market, I was thrilled! Another container to go with me everywhere.I have become a bit more select over the past few years in choosing and using a water bottle after all of the plastics warnings. I was asked to use and review Eastman Tritan Cool Gear Hydration Bottle. Cool Gear is known for their cool, pardon the pun, water bottles that are durable, BPA free and good at keeping the contents cool.I was interested in it because of the BPA free and being made with tritan material, which is closer to glass in regards to safety, but really light. Being the nerd I am I had to look at the website and do a little research. The websites lists out the safety features:Tritan is a BPA-free plastic — it is not manufactured with bisphenol A (BPA) or other bisphenols, such as BPS.Tritan is an impact-resistant plastic — products can be used without fear of shattering.Tritan is a tough plastic — extending the useful life of water bottles and food containers.Tritan has exceptional dishwasher durability — so it encourages proper sanitation for greater plastic container safety.Tritan has no estrogenic or androgenic activity — see Tritan Safety - Get the Facts. The environmental impact of Eastman Tritan™ copolyesterWe know you appreciate products that are friendly to the environment. Eastman Tritan™ copolyester offers a wide range of sustainability advantages compared with other materials used in products that hold food and beverages.Inherent toughness and durability increases product life and may reduce waste.Tritan is much lighter than glass, which can reduce energy used in shipping.Tritan is an extremely impact-resistant plastic.Tritan is GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified®1.Eastman is a Responsible Care®2 company and is committed to using our creativity and technical expertise to provide sustainable solutions. Apart from all the technical stuff, I like this water bottle. I like carrying it around. It's not too large or too small. It's extremely light, even when filled with ice and water. It even fits in the cup holder in my car. It has a top so I can throw it in my bag or purse and it won't spill or leak. That's pretty huge if you've ever had a puddle of water in the bottom of your purse. . . .And it stays nice and cool for a really long time. Best of all, you can go to the Cool Gear website and purchase one of these great water bottles for only $7.99. That's pretty awesome. Have you looked at the price of some of the water bottles on the market these days? Those are all good things. But for the sake of being honest and giving my true opinion, what is one of the good points of this bottle can also be a minor drawback. The fact that the top screws on and off keeps everything nice and secure and keeps you from having a puddle of water in your purse or bag, can be a wee bit of a pain if you are on a real live bike and have to stop and unscrew the top to down a drink of water. If you are driving your car and need a big gulp of water from your water bottle you have to use both hands to take the top off. Those can be minor inconveniences of this particular water bottle. However, as long as you know that going in and are prepared for that it is all good. Maybe a different type of CoolGear bottle might serve some needs better than others. All in all, I was happy to test this product and keep this product because I will definitely USE this product. This is a great water bottle, that is safe, light, keeps water cool and is so very affordable.Check out the Cool Gear website for more information and locations to purchase. Also, check out EastmanTritan on Facebook and Twitter.Do you have a favorite water bottle? What do you like? Have you tried one of these? Do you carry a bottle with you everywhere as if your life depended on it like my mom and I? Ahhh, it's all about good hydration . . . Enjoy Your Day!
