A New "Peppy" Yoga Playlist. . . that's NOT just for Yoga
A couple of days of the week I teach yoga to two different groups of people. One is a group of lawyers and paralegals in a law firm that take a break in the afternoon to work on flexibility, strength, stretch and a little decompression. I have been working with this group for a little over a year and I have been so impressed and motivated by how far this group has come! They are so much stronger and more at ease on the mat. The change in their form has been marvelous to experience! I have come to know these folks and really look forward to these afternoons. The other group is a small group of women that I have been meeting with regularly for quite some time. Not only is this work for me, but it has become my social time as getting to know these women adds so much to my week! Each of these groups is very different so I approach each group quite differently. I am in no way a great yogi. I have grown to love the practice and love sharing it. I am still learning and it is still evolving for me. Oftentimes I just go with the flow with what the class seems to need or want on that day. Sometimes it is basic yoga with basic poses and flow. Other times it involves more strength moves, while other times we may incorporate Pilates and make it more of a Fusion type class. I love being able to read the class and being able to be creative in this area.Preparing the music and playlists for these type of classes is so much fun for me. I try to put a lot of thought in them and they do require a good amount of time. It is great to be able to incorporate different tempos, different genres and different styles and times of music. I try to include something for everyone - especially after getting to know who I am working with.Recently, I had in mind that I wanted to create a new, "peppier" Yoga playlist. I've also been listening to so much 70's music and think those songs bring back fun memories for those of us old enough to have those memories. Although, I will say that it's great these days because my boys are into listening to older music and will belt out the 70's tunes right along with me! Go figure. All this leads up to my newest playlist on Spotify. I love it! It has some newer songs as well as older ones and they all have a great groove to them. Check it out or, better yet, Follow Me on Spotify to get it! And, it's not just for Yoga . . . I've been listening to this Playlist while cooking dinner!Click on SPRING YOGA PLAYLISThttps://open.spotify.com/user/12134373530/playlist/1GcEfDTB41d7oHdFStF9t4What music are you listening to these days?
