Pink Barre Review AND a Special for YOU!
I love checking out new classes and feel so fortunate to live in an area where so many things are available. I also love the soreness the next day from doing something new with my muscles. And today I'll confess I'm a wee bit sore! That's thanks to the lovely ladies above at their recently opened Pink Barre studio. I popped in one day last week just to look at a schedule and met the owner Tara. We started talking and she is so open and friendly she makes you want to stay for a class! I really enjoyed hearing her story of how she became involved with Pink Barre following a background in physical therapy. She is passionate about sharing the exercises, and Pink Barre philosophy by emphasizing body alignment and proper form for the client's overall benefit and wellness.
The class I attended yesterday was small in number but I loved the individual attention that Tara gave. She was great at reminding us throughout the class on ways to keep the tuck and focus on the proper technique. The class had great energy and flow, even with it not being a full house. The moves were a little different from some of the other barre classes I've attended. We used light weights, balls and bands, but in a way that flowed seamlessly from the bar to the floor. There was a standing portion to elevate the heart rate. The core work on the floor was Pilates based and truly got to my abs. We worked muscle groups to fatigue and I was glad I wasn't the only one with shaking legs clearly visible in the mirror!
The Pink Barre website describes the class as a "total body workout that is a foundational exercise program combining core elements of pilates, isometric strengthening, ballet, and yoga while using the ballet barre for support. We emphasize proper alignment with movements emanating from the core." Check out more about Pink Barre, classes, locations and background from their website here.
I wish I had taken a photo of inside the studio to share. It is light and bright with light hard wood floors and distressed plank walls above the mirrors and eco friendly materials. The flow from the entrance right to the lockers and equipment and into the studio made everything easy and accessible. They also made it so easy for a new client or visitor to get equipment and feel comfortable.
So, the big question when you try something new is did you like it enough to go back? I say, "Yes" I did! I will make it back for more "tuck", core, upper body with light weights that feel like tons and lower body muscle shaking moves.
AND since I told Tara how awesome you all were and that some of you in the area might want to try Pink Barre, she is offering you a special! How nice is that?? So, head on over to Pink Barre and use Promo code EP3for30 for 3 classes for $30. That's a huge bargain right in the middle of Buckhead! (If you aren't here locally I am soooo sorry!! Look for a Pink Barre near you and give it a try though!)
