Favorites from My Inbox
As I am not writing regularly you would think I would have more time to devote to all of those projects I was supposed to get done in July. At this point, I have about eight projects throughout the house, inside and out, and in my head, all begun in some form or fashion, but only a couple completely finished. That is one of my huge problems. I am always way over ambitious about what I want to and what I can accomplish in a day. I have grand plans every single day . . . I begin something and get distracted so move on to another and then the process starts over. So now I am telling myself that the already begun stuff will get my full and undivided attention once school begins in two weeks. One thing I am still doing regularly is reading, which includes the articles and posts that come to my Inbox daily. Oftentimes, I simply delete at the get go or flag for later if they sound really interesting. This week I found some diverse and interesting topics that I wanted to share. Hopefully, something speaks to you.My mornings begin with a little quiet time and some daily inspirations, some that come straight to my email. Crosswalk.com supports Girlfriends in God, which is a favorite and I always enjoy Mary Southerland's insights. Recently, she began When God Turns Tragedy into Triumph with one of my all time favorite verses from Romans. I knew from past readings that she had suffered deeply from depression. This post relayed its source. I am not saying that I can in any way relate with what Mary Southerland went through. I just know that the older I get the more I realize that life is hard. Tragedy happens. I have so many friends and family who have and are making it through some dark times. Maybe that's why I often turn to Romans 8:28. (In fact, it was the first verse I thought of when planning my mother's funeral). Southerland's words spoke to me in this quote, "Every circumstance comes to us for a purpose, bound by God’s love and plan and faithfully delivered with His permission. While we cannot go back and change our past, we can change the way we respond to our past and determine how much power it has in our lives today." I think I've read this about eight times already . . .Today, Fitfluential shared something that I tend to talk about often. It's one of those things I get asked about and remind folks of. Here are Top Health Tips from a Nutrition Coach. Great reminders about good carbs, good fats and water.Neghar Fonooni has a job of inspiring women in not only the fitness world but in their own world of life and accepting themselves for all the great and wonderful things they are. She's honest about her own flaws and shortcomings. I'll be honest and say that sometimes she and I don't relate completely and she can be a little over the top, but aren't we all at times? She wrote Your Aren't a Potato Head and shared two photos of herself in a bathing suit. (She is much braver than I am!) One photo showed her body as it is and the other shows the flaws shadowed out. In our age of constant photo shopping and editing and lighting it is refreshing. Great insight on body image, stretch marks, cellulite and all.Another blogger that I enjoy is a chef from New York. Lisa Adams writes beautifully about nourishing our bodies and souls on All Good Things. One of the best things is that she usually includes a delicious looking recipe with each post. This week she wrote about getting along and being Frictionless and concludes with a wonderful sounding recipe for Peaches and Cream. Being from the South during summertime I love most anything with fresh peaches! Now, as an added bonus, I'll share the Summer Yoga playlist I made this week. I love this playlist! I've been listening to it, not only during yoga class, but also driving in the car and while making dinner. Check it out and happy listening![embed]https://open.spotify.com/user/12134373530/playlist/6mOi9XJU6qIIST0C3Lj2bh[/embed]You can follow this or other music HERE.Enjoy Your Day!
