Bob's Red Mill Nutritional Booster Review

It is definitely summertime in the South.  There are two big ways you can tell that around here.  The first is that my posts have become fewer and farther in between.  If I look at my numbers I might get a bit distressed, but since I have never wanted this space to be about numbers I'm okay with that.  My thought is that folks are out and about enjoying summertime things and not stuck inside with their nose in a computer every single day.  That's a good thing!  And a very healthy thing! The second way I can really tell it's summertime - and this one is for real - is that I have begun to sound like my grandmother.  It is only June in Atlanta, but I cannot walk outside without making some disparaging remark about the heat.  Folks, it is already brutal! The heat makes me only want cool, refreshing things for breakfast and lunches.  And lo and behold, I received a great delivery just in time!  Thank you Bob's Red Mill!Bob's Red Mill Protein Powder PackLook at this box of goodies that came to my door.  I haven't tried any of Bob's Red Mill Protein Powders, so I looked forward to seeing how they would taste in my smoothies.  The box included the vanilla, chai, plain and chocolate flavors, as well as a blender bottle and a booklet of smoothie recipes. These protein powders are a little different as they are also nutritional boosters.  They not only contain 20 grams of plant protein, but also 12 grams of fiber, probiotics and chia seeds, all with 160 calories for 1/3 cup and only 1 gram of sugar.I have used the unflavored, the vanilla flavored and the chai flavored protein powders in different ways throughout the last couple of weeks.  (I'm not really a chocolate fan so I'm sure one of my boys will use it in their own smoothies!)IMG_1903IMG_1914IMG_1873This is a scoop of the powder and you can see the chia seeds right there.  How smart is that to save us the step of adding them . . . and sometimes forgetting to add them?I really liked the chia flavor.  I will definitely want to get more of this!  It was a nice change to my normal vanilla.IMG_1793A scoop of vanilla nutritional booster with fresh blackberries made a really good overnight oats breakfast! And a great breakfast or lunch on the go . . .IMG_1905This is the perfect quick and healthy breakfast, lunch or snack to have all summer long!  In fact if you click HERE you can get a coupon to try for yourself!I'd love to hear your special mixes, recipes and ways to try, as well as your hints for making it through this heat! You can also follow along on this Fitapproach SummerStrong Instagram Challenge from July 18-23 by checking out #SummerStrong#SweatPink.
