Beets Blu Wireless Heart Rate Monitor . . . Yes!
I love free stuff. I mean, who doesn't? When Beets Blu contacted me and asked if I would be interested in trying out the Beets Blu wireless heart rater monitor, you know I would not pass that up! This is especially cool for me as some of you may know that I strive to give up any and all shopping for myself beginning January 1. I usually aim for three months, but this year, I bit off a little more and am aiming for six months. I'll just go ahead and admit that I might not make it . . . .Anyway, I jumped at the opportunity to review this heart rater monitor. I used to use my Polar heart rate monitor all the time until it just stopped working. I like seeing how hard I am working as opposed to how hard I think I am working while exercising. Oftentimes it can be deceiving. In a way it can be like trying to estimate how many calories you burn - the majority of folks over estimate that number by as much as 50%! So, a heart rate monitor can be a great tool to track you fitness level, training and improvement. I found using a heart rate monitor especially helpful while I was pregnant. Spinning was my obsession during my last pregnancy and keeping track of my heart rate during class was really helpful. The Beets Blu was incredibly easy to set up and get going. It comes compatible for an IPhone, IPad or an Android phone. I initially had to replace the battery and then reviewed several of the recommended Apps. I chose and am currently using RunKeeper, a free App that has been super easy to set up. I am also looking at a couple of other Apps that are specifically just for monitoring heart rate. Here are just a few of the recommended Apps: There are plenty more. You may find that you are already using one of these. Here are some of the things I liked about this heart rate monitor:The strap fits snugly and comfortably around the chest. In the past I had a hard time getting the strap to stay firmly in place. This one does not take a ton of water or spit to get it going. You do not have to have your phone on your person or even right with you for it to work. I have used it mostly for teaching classes. My music for classes is on my phone, so my phone is hooked up to the stereo - usually across the room - and there was no problem with it synching or keeping up with the heart rate. I did have one glitch the first time I used it while teaching. While we were warming up, things were going nicely until this voice came from my phone and through the speaker announcing my heat rate! Oops! Once I figured how to turn the audio off it was good to go.I also think the price tag is fair. You can purchase it for $44.95 from Amazon. I use a Polar Loop fitness watch and have not sprung for the accompanying heart rate monitor because it is right at $90.00. With the Beets Blu wireless monitor you don't even have to have a watch to accompany it.Check out this video for more:[embed]http://youtu.be/79HIhRvjte8[/embed]All in all, this heart rate monitor works for me. It's easy, comfortable, accurate and being wireless is a huge plus.*While this is a sponsored post, I was provided with the product for review, my opinions are honest and all mine.*Do you use a heart rate monitor? Have you tried this one? Or any other wireless heart rate monitor? Enjoy Your Day!
