My Own 7 Layer Salad

My take of an old fashioned favorite salad!
  • 2 cups chopped romaine
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 2 medium tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 1 bunch Green Onions, sliced
  • 8 ounces, shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small can sliced Water Chestnuts, drained
  • ½ cup light mayonnaise
  • ½ cup light sour cream
  • Dash dried oregano, basil and parsley to taste
  • 16 ounces bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  1. Combine mayo and sour cream in a small bowl and, if desired, stir in herbs to taste. Spread dressing over the top of the layers covering completely. Sprinkle crumbled bacon over the top.
  2. Cover tightly and refrigerate for up to 8 hours. Toss just before serving.
