Know WHY you are making New Goals and a FREEBIE

We have had five whole new days of 2018.  How have they been for you?  I’ve heard so many people say they are still in that weird, unscheduled place, not knowing what day it is.  Since this has been a short week I totally get that.  It seems that a lot of folks aren’t really settling into the NEW YEAR until next week.  Around here, in the middle of SEC Football, it is likely a LOT of people will have to put it off for even another week as the tailgates and parties continue over the weekend in anticipation of the National Championship Game here in Atlanta on Monday night.  All I have to say to that is GO DAWGS!!

That being said, if you are in the midst of a bit of continual off-scheduled time, when you come up for air and look at your New Year and what goals you may have, and you know how I love starting fresh with new goals and intentions, I do encourage you to know WHY you are setting out to make a change.  Oftentimes knowing why you are trying to do something new is the only way to make it stick.

If you have some sort of goal to get healthy, lose weight, exercise more, these very broad and general declarations will be difficult to maintain for lots of reasons.  Broad, general goals are difficult to begin with.  Change is difficult as it is.  Changes need to be realistic, manageable and mean something.  You need to have a great big WHY to keep any new changes and have them actually occur.

So, if you have a goal that involves creating a healthy lifestyle, I hope you meditate what it is you want to create and why.  I am really hoping you want something new in your lifestyle to be more than fitting in a pair of skinny jeans.  (That’s a good goal, I know, I’ve had that goal myself!) but that’s really not enough! To make real changes a new mindset has to come.

Working with clients, my goal in promoting a real healthy lifestyle is more than the size of the jeans or number on a scale.  Those things can simply be  by-products, but not the real end results.  I want folks to create a new way of thinking about old habits and methods.  This is not a set a goal for three weeks and forget it kind of deal.  I am here for the long haul!

We are all different,  with different lifestyles, challenges, body types, medical issues and backgrounds.  We have different motivations, goals and triggers, too.  In looking to make changes for a healthy lifestyle all of those factors come into play.  And, let me tell you, if you have a goal to lose weight, you CANNOT do that by listening to someone telling you to EXERCISE MORE AND EAT LESS.  That is NOT the way!

I have a BRAND NEW PROGRAM coming right here next month.  It will be THE way to have your own personal balanced healthy lifestyle.  One of the big proponents we talk about is knowing why you want to make a change and why you engage in the program.  I want to make sure my clients know WHY they want join the Better & Beyond Program.  So, if you are interested in something new that I’ve been working on for quite some time, that is based on tons of research, personal experience, client’s experience, science and realistic approaches, stay tuned for more information!

In the meantime, I have a new FREE Ebook to share with you!  I know it’s a bit chilly outside and may not be the normal weather to enjoy smoothies, but I do know that they are still easy, delicious and fun ways to get great nutrition!  I can always enjoy a good, refreshing smoothie during the week, regardless of the weather.  And if it makes you shiver, hold on until later for a great resource!

Check it out!  Click on the Photo for my FREE Ebook of easy and delicious recipes for both fruity and fresh smoothie recipes!
