I have been MIA from this space lately. Maybe you have noticed, or maybe not. It hasn’t been from writers block or lack of things to write. I have had an overflow of ideas lately, so much so that I am all over the place! It hasn’t been because I’ve been busier than usual. I have, but I think we can always make some time when we need to. Here’s the thing, I have always said that I don’t ever want to post here simply to “post”.
There are so, so many healthy living sites and health and fitness sites out there. While there is always health information to share and motivation to give, I want to make sure I am only sharing when I have something worth sharing. I appreciate my readers so much! I appreciate your time, interest and especially when you share! I am always floored when someone approaches me in the grocery store or gym to compliment me on this blog. It ALWAYS makes my day and blows me away. Therefore, I want to respect your time and try not to just fill this space with fluff, but want to give it some real thought, inspiring stories, challenges and “good stuff”. I want to give readers a reason to come back and hope that each time you do, you get some little nugget that adds to your day and your own personal health journey.
That being said, I’ve been mulling over a couple of NEW CHALLENGES. I’ll go into the first one today and and share a little info on the second.
- No Complaint Day
- Month of Motivation
In line with my Year of Being Grateful and my Lent Challenge of being Thankful Daily, I think a No Complaint Day would be a great addition. Last week Suzie Eller issued this challenge in a devotion I read and I thought it a wonderful idea. While I think I’m generally a positive person, I know I can fall into the trap of complaining about one thing or another. This complaining adds absolutely nothing to my day. It is negative energy and I know no one likes a complainer. I think it can be incredibly easy to fall into that trap of throwing around complaints without even realizing how it sounds.
Last Wednesday, I jumped on this challenge. I shared it with my morning Group Training Class and they seemed to love the idea too. I was doing great during two morning classes and lunch. A friend asked if I had time to walk that day, and since we hadn’t visited in quite some time, I made time for a great hour long trek with our dogs. Unfortunately, the walk and friend time was great, but my adhereing to the No Complaint Challenge totally fell by the wayside! I found myself venting over some frustrations which, of course, had to be counted in the complaint column, so I totally blew it for the day. Looking back on that day, I don’t count it as a complete loss. I was able to hash some things out and get some great feedback on the frustration. It also made me more aware of what I was saying and how I come across. I made sure I picked it back up for the remainder of the day. I’m jumping back on that No Complaint Day today. I hope to make this something I can think about once a week and make a weekly challenge.
What do you think? Want to share in a No Complaint Day Challenge? I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments!
MONTH OF MOTIVATION Challenge
Spring is here and this is when folks are looking to get out of their winter doldrums and think about eating lighter and getting back to any exercise routines that may have dropped by the wayside. Recently, I was asked to help with an eating and workout plan. I love coming up with personalized meal plans, healthy eating tips and workouts for clients. Why not share that with you readers? I prepared a monthly meal guide that has lots of options, two workouts and I’m thinking of a yoga flow, too, to complete the month. You can follow as closely or as loosely as you like! I think it’s a great plan and I’m sure you’ll get a few nuggets, ideas and motivation for your month. AND best of all, it’s FREE!!
Be on the lookout for the LAUNCH next week!
