Recently, she has had to learn to adapt to life with two children and all of the juggling that it entails. She was very candid in her interview with Fitness that parenting kicks her butt and that getting in a workout is incredibly tough! Where she used to rip people apart for only doing 20 minutes in a day or checking email while on the elliptical, she now knows it’s just bet to get it in when you can. Welcome to the real world, Jillian!! It’s good to see she is human!
I won’t spoil the article in case you are waiting to read it in Fitness. I will share her THREE EASY WAYS TO LOSE WEIGHT that is at the conclusion of the article. Apparently, these are in her book, Slim for Life.
1. Wreak Havoc.
She says to really mess up your plate when you just can’t stop picking at it. You know how it is when you are full, but it’s so good, or you’re just bored so you keep picking at the food? Well, Jillian says pour salt all over the plate or water all over it so it is completely ruined. She says she know it sounds so wrong, but, honestly, that food isn’t going to starving kids . . . it’s either going in your trash. (Or I say if not in the trash, in your belly or on your hips!) She says it’s not worth the cellulite, muffin top or cancer. Good point.
2. Amp It Up
Her next tip is to drink an expresso or 200 milligrams of caffeine 45 minutes before you exercise. (Research now says caffeine is a performance enhancer) She says you will work out harder, longer and it helps your body to mobilize fat stores.
3. Get Out Of Your Chair
You have heard me say this so many times and I’m so happy I have some credibility now since Jillian says the same thing! She says that simply standing burns one and a half times more calories than sitting. Think about how that adds up over the year! She says there’s no excuse not to do it – so whatever you are doing stand up!! Well said, Jillian!!
So, this is my share of some of Jillian’s tips without any yelling, scowling or foul language. You’re welcome.
I wrote last week about not getting on the scale and having put on a couple of unwanted lbs lately . . . just to let you know I stayed off that darn scale all week, until today, and I think staying away was the best thing! A watched pot never boils, right?? I had a few days where I think I forgot about the challenge when I was wrestling with the number on the scale.
I’m also checking back in today with my 40 Day Lent Challenge. I wrote about 40 Days of Grace here http://www.marla-deen-fit.net/3/post/2013/02/40-days-of-grace.html. I had a few days where I think I forgot about the challenge when I was wrestling with the number on the scale. I’m back on track and thinking more about the Lenten Season and all of its beauty, sacrifice and purpose and the reason we make our own sacrifices during this time. If you have participated, how are your 40 days going? I’m sure you are doing well!
Hope your week is off to a bang!
Did you wear your green yesterday? Did you drink green beer, have a green shake, green eggs?
Don’t forget to check out yesterday’s post!! It’s a great DVD Giveaway!!
I am commenting to win that video you mentioned in class this am. But while I am here, why don’t you post a photo of our class hard at work?
