The Simple Things . . . and Almond Butter Winners

I have been pretty quiet on the blog front for a couple of days.  First of all, it’s a pretty busy time of year.  Secondly, I have lots of things to share, but don’t think this is exactly the time and, lastly, in light of all the devastation that has been swirling around all of us and the stream of media, internet and blog coverage of so many people’s sorrow, I have nothing to add that is helpful, profound, or different than everyone else’s feelings or emotions.  I will say that I now understand how Christmas and the Holidays can be a sad time for some people.  There really can be a Blue Christmas for many people.  I am truly sorry for that.  With all of the lights and brights around I now see how difficult it can be for some people and, also, how easy it is to forget that fact.

That being said, sometimes all we can do is look at the little things and find festivity in even the smallest things.  These were some of mine this week:

An afternoon treat: a little eggnog in my coffee. Who needs Starbucks?

One of our hounds. How can you not smile at that?

Do you have any idea how good these Hershey bells are?

I helped my mother host her Christmas Open House for her new friends. So festive!

Dark Chocolate covered almonds for my Fit in 50 exercisers – these women are the Best!

My son and his buddies celebrating a win after coaching my youngest son’s basketball team. This just makes me smile! Please don’t tell him I posted this! He will never speak to me again . . .

This is so NOT true, but it made me laugh!

So, this did NOT make me smile. This was last week when our tree fell. I thought if you are having a bad day, you could think of this and know that, at least, it isn’t at your house!

So, that’s it for the week.  I didn’t realize when I began this post how many little things I had accumulated since Saturday that made for festive little moments during the days.

NOW, for another fun thing!  The Random Number Generator chose our THREE WINNERS of the delicious NaturAlmond Almond Butter!  Elena, Heather and Meredith you all win and will each get a jar . . . Yeah!

Please email  me at marla.brooks@comcast.net with your full name and mailing address so you can receive your goody!

What are your little things that make you smile throughout the day?  How many times has your Christmas tree fallen?
